Get Things Out of Storage and Ready for a Yard Sale

Couple cleaning out garage and text "Get things outs of storage and ready for a yard sale"

If you have a yard sale every spring, then now could be a great time to get some of those items out of the garage, the basement, and your self-storage unit. Going through things now will give you plenty of time to decide what you want to put on the sale, and you’ll be ready to have your sale on that first nice spring weekend.

At EZ Storage® in Philadelphia, we can help you find the ideal storage options. If you’re going through things for your sale and there are items you want to put into storage, then please visit one of our metro-area locations today!

What Will You Sell?

When going through your boxes and tubs that have been in storage, you might be surprised at what you come across. You might have some old records or board games that have been stashed away for years, and they could fetch a good price on your yard sale. Perhaps there’s a piece of furniture that’s still in good shape, but it’s just been taking up space in the basement for the past few years.

It’s good to be shrewd about what you put on your yard sale. There are likely some items that you can put a big price tag on, but the majority of items will go for a pretty low price. If you have a lot of something, such as multiple picture frames or plates and cups, then it can be good to put a smaller price tag on them and watch people buy them up.

What Will You Keep?

If you have a storage unit already, then it might be filled with things that you want to keep. You’ve put these items in storage because you want to protect them, but the fact of the matter is, you probably haven’t looked in several of those boxes and tubs in a long time. As you open each one to take out things for the sale, think about what you actually want to keep for the next few years.

By doing so, you can truly assess what is worth keeping, what can be sold, and what could possibly be donated or thrown away. If you put something on the sale and it doesn’t sell, then do you put it back in a box and store it away, or do you give it away to someone who can use it? By being intentional about what you want to keep, you can hold onto those things that truly mean something to you, as well as keep your storage unit from being filled to the brim.

If you’re cleaning things out of the basement or garage to get ready for a yard sale, and you want to store things afterwards, then visit one of our locations today. If you already have a storage unit and you want to upsize or downsize after your sale, then we can help you find the right option. We offer month-to-month leases on all of our units.
